Equipment

  • air fryer
  • air fryer basket liner (optional)
  • Bowl with lid (or bowl & spoon) (or you can use a ziplock bag)
  • Tongs
  • Cooking Spray (optional but recommended)

Ingredients

  • 3 apples
  • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • pinch salt
  • cooking spray - optional but recommended

Instructions

  • Peel and slice each apple into about 15-20 slices and add to your bowl (or ziplock bag).
  • Add the cornstarch to the apples, close the lid, and shake until the apples are well covered.
  • Add the lemon juice, brown sugar cinnamon, and pinch of salt, and shake again until the apples are evenly coated.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375℉.
  • Use a basket liner OR spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray, to prevent sticking (if your manufacturer's directions allow for cooking spray). Place the apples in a mostly single layer in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes. Flip the apples with tongs every 5 minutes.
  • Repeat step 5 if all of your apple slices did not fit in your air fryer.
  • Allow to cool slightly before enjoying with your favorite sugary dip!

Notes

Serve dipped in sweetened coconut yogurt. For an extra sweet treat, serve with icing or caramel sauce!
These apples are cooked without oil so the texture is not going to be "crispy". You can somewhat crisp them by caramelizing the edges.
Stop cooking at 10 minutes for softer apples, or cook for the full 15 minutes for crispier apples that are starting to caramelize.
