Sweetly spiced and so easy to make. This vegan monkey bread recipe has suggestions for vegan compliant ingredients. It is rich, buttery and delicious. The whole family will love it.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar white
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 10 canned flaky biscuits see blog post for vegan-compliant suggestions
  • 1 Tablespoon vegan butter
  • 1 teaspoon liquid sweetener of choice agave, vegan honey, or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350° and grease the pan. Either use vegetable shortening or cooking spray.
  • Mix together in a med/large mixing bowl, the sugar, cinnamon, cloves, salt, ginger, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • Take the biscuits out of the can, cut in half and place the halves in the bowl with the sugar mixture.
  • Lightly toss with biscuits in the sugar mixture to evenly coat.
  • Layer the sugared biscuits in the pan. Sprinkle remaining sugar on top.
  • Place pan on a larger baking sheet and put in the oven. Cook for 25 minutes.
  • While the monkey bread is cooking, melt the vegan butter in the microwave for 60-90 seconds. Add your liquid sweetener of choice and vanilla. Set aside.
  • When finished, the monkey bread should be lightly browned on top. Check the bottom layerto make sure it's not still doughy. Return to the oven for another 5 minutes if it is.
  • Take out of the oven and drizzle the sweetened melted butter on top.Return to the oven and cook for another 7-10 minutes or until a light glaze has set.

  • Possibly a store brand - read the label.
If you are worried that the top is getting too done. Before returning to the oven with the sweet butter drizzle, cover with foil.
